Prof. Sheng-Jie You

Professor Sheng-Jie You from the Department was ranked among the "Top 2% of the World's Top Scientists in 2020 - Lifetime Scientific Impact" by Stanford University

Prof. Sheng-Jie You got his Ph.D degree from Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering at National Central University, Taiwan in 2001. After took his military service in Air Force, he joined Department of Civil Engineering of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) in 2003. He established Department of Bioenvironmental Engineering in 2004, which was re-named as Department of Environmental Engineering in 2015. Prof. You’s research focused on Membrane and Photocatalytic Application in Water/Wastewater, Air Pollution, Groundwater Remediation, Sources Recovery from Waste. Prof. You published more than 300 journal papers, conference papers and reports. There are more than 100 Ph.D/MS degree students graduated under Prof. You’s advising in the past 20 years. He also got Outstanding Research Professor Award of CYCU, Excellent Contribution of Industry-Academia Cooperation Award of CYCU, and several Best Paper Award of several conferences.

Prof. Ya-Fen Wang

Assoc. Prof. Saravanan Pichiah

Pichiah Saravanan holds PhD in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. He was a key founder of environmental nanotechnology research at Department of Civil Engineering, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and in present affiliation. He has published over 100 peer reviewed articles and has been awarded Chartered Chemist (CChem) and Fellow status by the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry, (RSC) UK. He was also awarded as charted Engineer by Institute of Engineers (IE), India.

Assoc. Prof. Collin G. Joseph

Collin G. Joseph is a Professional Chemist and an Associate Professor in the Industrial Chemistry Program of Universiti Malaysia Sabah, which he joined as an academician in 2003. He obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK in 2011 and to-date he has received several Excellence and Service awards as well as research and innovation Gold Medals in MTE, ITEX and PEREKA research competitions. He is an accomplished researcher and author in the field of Adsorbent Technology, Sonophotochemistry and Ozone Chemistry research. Since 2020, he has been serving as the Head of the Industrial Chemistry Programme at the Faculty of Science and Natural Resources, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Due to his outstanding accomplishments in the field of Chemistry, he has been invited by many Tier 1 journals to serve as a reviewer under various publishers such as Elsevier B.V, Springer and Taylor & Francis. He sits on the Editorial board of the Malaysian Journal of Chemistry (ISSN: 2550-1658), as a Review Editor on the Editorial Board of Photocatalysis (Frontiers of Chemistry (ISSN: 2296-2646)) and serves as a Guest Editor for Catalysts (ISSN 2073-4344). He is an active member (Fellow) of the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry and American Chemical Society. He also serves as a volunteer (Life-time member) with MERCY Malaysia and the UMS4WDVC, carrying out various community-based activities in Sabah, Malaysia.

Assoc. Prof. Jonggol Tantirungrotechai

Jonggol Tantirungrotechai is an Associate Professor in Inorganic Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. She obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004 and worked as a Lecturer at Thammasat University for a year before transferring to Mahidol. Her research interest focuses on heterogeneous catalysis and nanomaterials. She has been invited by many journals to serve as a reviewer under various publishers such as ACS, RSC, Wiley, and Elsevier. She is a member of the Chemical Society of Thailand and a board member of the Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Association of Thailand. She also serves as an academic and industrial coordinator of the Center of Excellence for Innovation in Chemistry (PERCH-CIC), Thailand.

Assoc. Prof.Thai Van Nam

Dr. Van Nam Thai is an Associate Professor at HUTECH Institute of Applied Sciences (HIAS), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – HUTECH. He is now working as Vice Director of HIAS, a Senior Lecturer in the field of Sustainable Energy, Environmental Engineering, and Management. He got his master degree at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), Vietnam – 2003, and his doctorate degree at Osaka University (Handai), Japan - 2011.

Dr. Thai is major in Environmental Management Systems, Environmental Engineering, Water and Soil Resources Engineering, and Environmental and Health Risk Assessment and Management. His skills and expertise are in Health and Environmental Risk Assessment, Life-Cycle Assessment, Environmental Analysis, Environmental Management, Sustainable Consumption and Production, Environmental Modeling, Land Degradation, and Soil Remediation. He has published over 140 research items, i.e., 79 articles (54 ISI papers), 25 books and book chapters, 22 conference papers, 4 experiment findings, and 3 databases. Dr. Thai is an editor board member of Journal of Technology and Innovation (JTIN), Journal of Applied Solution Chemistry and Modeling; is a peer-reviewed of Journal of Cleaner Production, PloS ONE, Journal of chemical engineering transactions, Journal of Materials and Environmental Science, Journal of Toxicology, Journal of Science Technology and Food.
